Quarterback accuracy is not simply putting the ball near the receiver. It is delivering the type of ball that gives that specific player the best opportunity to catch it and advance it.
A smaller slot receiver may need the ball protected from contact. A vertical threat may need more air and space to run underneath it. A tight end working through traffic may require firm velocity and placement away from the nearest defender. The matchup, body type, movement skill, catch radius, and route context should all influence targeting.
The progression may tell you where to throw. Personnel awareness helps determine how to throw it.
QB play lives in the nuance. When a receiver is identified correctly but the throw type does not match the player, the missed opportunity traces back to the quarterback.
